Le Mans 2010: For Those With No Life

It’s no secret that I’m a complete sucker for some car racing, and the Le Mans 24 Hours is the pinnacle of motor racing. Every year over 50 cars hit the public highway in France to compete in the most gruelling sports car race in the world. Because I don’t have any friends, I plan on spending as much time as I can watching the race (dad had to go and be born on Le Mans weekend…jeez) The racing will be broadcast on channel ONE in HD for a few hours, as well as Eurosport on Foxtel for 22 of the 24 hours.

Bape Crapes – So Money, You Don’t Even Know

Sneakers

Okay lets not beat around the bush Bape has long been known for being inspired by popular silhouettes which in their defense is a common trait among almost all the Japanese brands that look to the west and add their eastern spices to traditional wear. However!……however sometimes Bape’s unique pop art aesthetics do pay dividends, and this time it comes in the shape of the Bape Crape, which look incredibly lush and the colors are for a lack of a better term money! So money you don’t even know…ya dig?

Sneakers

FEIT keep bringing the new releases, this time leaving their signature boot/sneaker look behind for a simple but super lux sneaker. The SUPERCLEAN LOW & HI feature some insane materials. The brown are made from Kangaroo leather, whilst the white are made from Llama leather… YES LLAMA! Their aim with this newest shoe was to make an incredibly flexible and breathable shoe whilst keeping it as clean as possible. As you can see, there’s hardly any stitching on them.

Hell who? Hell Yeah!

I’m going to honest with the 3 people that read this blog right now, issue #1 of Hell Yeah Magazine didn’t appeal to me at all. Possibly because I’m not the target demographic, or possibly because I felt it was lacking in more than a few areas. But here’s the hard cold facts; Hell Yeah is an Brisbane based magazine, they’re starting out in an industry that is struggling with the prevalence of digital media, and lets face it they’ve got huge (metaphorical) balls.
So here is the flyer for the release of issue #2, which is themed around pop art, something that could be damn interesting if it’s done right. All of the necessary information is there, so I wont bother regurgitating it all here. I’m going to remain quietly hopeful that the guys and gals over at Hell Yeah have stepped up the game for their second issue as I don’t think they can afford to be less than amazing for too long before they get swallowed up and left behind.
At the end of the day, we should be doing everything to support these local brands no matter what industry they’re in as it’s all we’ve got. It’s not like other countries where there’s 40 other labels around to take their place. So suck it up and show some love, the damn magazine’s even free!

adidas Originals x Star Wars – Cantina 2010
Adidas has been killing it with their promotion videos of late, and this preview for the next drop of adidas x Star Wars pack is no exception. Awesomely nerdy, the pack will be stocked by Laced later in the year so start saving. This new set is even crazier than the last!

The G.O.A.T!

As far back as I can remember this is the first time in history…HISTORY!!! Michael Jordan has graced the cover of a official NBA game and for the first time will be featured in all his glory in the latest rendition of NBA 2k11. The last time I can remember MIchael Jordan in a game would’ve been NBA Street Volume 2, which was fucking brilliant at the time.

BMW Art Car #17 By Jeff Koons Unveiled

I posted about this collaboration between Jeff Koons and BMW a little while ago, and just a week ahead of the race it will be competing in, the 17th BMW Art Car has been unveiled. I’ve noted before that Jeff Koons is an artist whose work I’ve admired for a while, and I really like his livery design for the M3 GT2. This car carries the tradition of BMW Art Cars at Le Mans and I’ll be supporting them for the GT2 win. I’m sure they’ll have stiff competition in the GT2 category this year, especially with the infamous Corvette Racing crew competing in the lower class now.
