Converse Missoni at Up There
Thursday September 29th 2011, 10:00 am - Sneakers

For a few seasons now Converse and Missoni have teamed up to inject some high end luxury into one of the most recognisable shoes in the world. If you’re not aware of some of the previous iterations jump on google and have a squiz. I’ve been a fan of a few versions over the seasons and it’s with great excitement I can now tell you that our homies at Up There are stocking the latest range. Due to release this coming Saturday, numbers are extremely limited and interest is high. I personally think the brown is by far the strongest of the two.

Curren$y – Ways To Kill Em
Thursday September 29th 2011, 12:27 am - Music
YouTube Preview Image

One of the best tracks off one of the best mixtapes out right now, Verde Terrace. I remember when Curren$y came out and he was gonna be the next Weezy then shit got mad weird at Cash Money, so glad he bounced out of that situation. Looking forward to his features on that new Blakroc compilation, also make sure to check out his studio album Weekend At Burnie’s.

- T, wish Drama would fucking get rid of the drops already shit is mad played out

Acronym – ACR-FW-1112-M
Wednesday September 28th 2011, 5:55 pm - Clothing

Errolson Hugh is back with a video of his new collection for Acronym label of tech jackets, for the north hemisphere fall winter season. As ever its 1 part tech 1 part spy gear 1 part magic trick, watch the video for what I am trying to say. No doubt these will be ridiculously priced as usual, and available online at Hanon, but you better keep your eye open because these things sell out just as quick as they come out.

- T, if you are lucky enough have any of Acronym’s wear, I would love to hear how you are getting on with it.

SxD Presents: One Offs Pt.II
Wednesday September 28th 2011, 4:39 pm - Events

The gaybos at Sneak&Destroy are hosting another One Offs show on Saturday October 22nd. If the last one was anything to go by it should be pretty awesome, here’s to hoping Kissperience makes another flame spitting appearance! Featuring some of the best artists QLD has to offer including one Claudio Kirac (who will also be taking part in Mo’ Munny’, Mo’ Problems) they will take on classic sneaker silhouettes in order to create some unique art pieces. Full details can be found over at the incredibly terrible Sneak&Destroy site.

- t, get your butt into gear and make sure you check this one out.

Gourmet – The Wearer’s Right
Monday September 26th 2011, 10:58 pm - Sneakers

Fred from Noir Distributions took time to run through some of the new models from Gourmet, including a special edition Quadici created by Paul Rodriguez for his Primitive label, a Space Jam themed shoe the quality is stunning in person, dunno if I could pull it off but this is definitely my favourite Gourmet model. The 35 is a relatively new model, its essentially a runner with proper running accents like mesh venting and a pretty decent sole unit, would have to try it on to comment furhter on it.

The quality of these shoes was always a concern for me personally but most of their new models feature suede and leather and even canvas that are top notch quality and finishing is really clean. Gourmet has been stocked by the odd store here and there not sure if there is a local stockist in the 4k but I will try investigate.

H574 Past, Present and Future’ Collection
Monday September 26th 2011, 6:38 pm - Sneakers

APAC NB

Earlier this year I had the pleasure of meeting Choee founder of Asias best street blog and forum, Streething. A man after my own heart, who built his company out of pure passion for sneakers and streetwear and has now gone on to do some pretty amazing things. Their latest project entitled H574 Past, Present and Future done in conjunction with New Balance and Leftfoot, is a collection that represents three very different interpretation of the classic NB574, in this case the mid cut hiking model signified by the ‘H’. The collection contains a homage to classic colourways, a contemporary make up and a future tech embellished model.

The Wearer’s Right – Obey
Monday September 26th 2011, 10:00 am - Accessories,Clothing,Events

The guys from Obey run through some of the new products from their upcoming season at The Wearer’s Right. Obey is moving towards a full fledged label, with a collection of outerwear, sweats, shirts, tees, pants, jeans and are now even moving into the jewellery and accessory game. Obviously they couldn’t show me every single piece of the collection but they were nice enough to run through some of the more interesting ones.
