So, here I am back in the cold, wet and foggy UK. My first weekend back was spent with a couple of mates in London, one of whom was kind enough to treat me to a coming home present: The sublime Vac Tec Air Max 90 (Haystack).

Mark Drew for New Era
Thursday November 17th 2011, 8:38 pm - Accessories,Art,Fashion

With New Era finally setting up on Aussie soil, it was only a matter of time before locals were awarded the chance to collaborate with the American cap powerhouse. First cab off the ranks is the now Japanese based Mark Drew, with Melbourne’s finest Saintside following up closely later this month. A self confessed music nerd and founder of Sydney’s China Heights Gallery, Mark was inspired by Tower Records’ latest marketing efforts to make his “No Money, No Life” snapback.

The official release event will see 50 grey/black caps sold on the night only and the black/red/gold colourways will be available at Surry Hills’ own Halfsleeve. The cap releases December 9 at China Heights Gallery, full details can be seen on facebook.

10 Ways to Wear a White Shirt by Up There
Wednesday November 16th 2011, 6:01 pm - Accessories,Clothing,Fashion

The Brisbane boys-come-Melbournians at Up There have compiled an interesting new editorial. This one is titled “10 Ways to Wear a White Shirt”, which pretty much explains what it’s all about. Over the different looks the boys touch on subtle but significant changes that spruce up one of the most important staples of any man’s wardrobe.

- t, All clothes are modelled by the ever handsome hairy Brendan, so it’s worth a click at least for the eye candy.

Lister for Colab Eyewear
Tuesday November 15th 2011, 2:48 pm - Accessories,Art,Design

Back in September Taz gave you a preview of Colab Eyewear’s project with Brisbane’s own Anthony Lister. Now I can inform you that the sunnies created by the misfit-come-artist are available for purchase on Colab’s site. The three styles are fairly general looking except for the “mask” provided with the first 250 pairs of the “Vacation in the Sun” frames (pictured above). These are probably the most “Lister” of all the pieces and are sure to have people notice you at least.

- t, word up Brisbane!

Needed a case/sleeve for my new Macbook.  After searching around the usual sites, Mickey suggested I try Etsy.  I was dubious at first, as I thought all that would be on there would be kitschy flowery crap, but after a short time browsing I came across a seller called ‘Canter’ in Japan.  All the cases are hand made from premium canvas, triple stitched and with quality touches such as metal fasteners.  The service was fantastically quick and I’m more than impressed with the product.  If you’re after a new bag or case, I’d suggest heading over to their store and checking their range out.  You won’t be disappointed.

-S, bagged up and ready to rock
